if its going through cables, its better to have ti closer to the moddem. it still has to travel through the cables and loses speed as it goes through.

hey man i got the same wired modem as you(the motorola surfboard) and im havin some trouble with ma ps3 connecting to it, im about to get ma ps3 with wireless shortly but before i do umm im taking my ethernet cable out of my pc and putting it straight into my ps3 and when i go for the connection test it says it has a dns error…should i hav turned the main power cord off and when its in my ps3 putt it bak in or what??
