It’s possible, but very very unlikely. There is so many variables. Did you save exactly where I ask in annotation? This saving place must be most near location from chest in 3 gamedays. If you are closer and then go to Varondo, you can’t test loot. Sorry my english.

If you want to make sure that save testing works, then fast travel to Varondo (or find it first and fast travel there AGAIN). That’s how you make sure you are in RIGHT ZONE. Don’t move. Wait 3 days and save. Now follow video’s instructions from 0:37.

It’s very important that you haven’t been near that place for 3 game days. Also you must approach Varondo from south and save there.
